You Have Questions, We Have Answers

What’s a Life Plan Community or a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC)?

Retirement living communities vary based on what living options and services are offered. Continuing care retirement communities offer residents a continuum of care on the same campus, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and long-term care (what was once known as a nursing home). The terminology has evolved from CCRC to Life Plan Community to more accurately encompass what older adults are seeking in retirement.

How Much Does a Life Plan Community Cost?

At Uplands Village, resident homeowners pay a one-time membership fee plus a monthly service fee. A discount is available on other services should your needs change. Our community representatives would be happy to discuss your needs to provide an accurate price quote.

What’s the Difference Between Independent Living and Assisted Living?

Independent living, sometimes referred to as a 55-plus community, is ideal for individuals who can live independently but want the benefits of amenities, conveniences, and social engagement. At Uplands Village, independent living residents own or rent their own home but have access to 24/7 home healthcare and various on-site services.

Assisted living is designed for individuals who need additional support with the activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming or mobility. While assisted living residents are free to live an independent lifestyle, they receive daily support for a variety of activities. At Uplands Village, we offer three assisted living options to create a more personalized experience for each resident.
